The engine air filter is an important part of the vehicle - it cleans the air that enters the engine to protect the engine from debris and dust. Your air filter should be changed between 15,000 and 30,000 miles (mileage depends on driving conditions).

Changing the air filter is easy and anyone can do it! First, see your Owner’s Manual to see 1) what type of filter you will need and 2) where to locate the air filter under the hood. Once you have your new filter, open the hood and secure it. Once the hood is secure, locate the air filter housing. Many times, this can be removed by your hands, but some vehicles may require a screwdriver or ratchet to release. Once the housing is out, you can pop it open and see the current air filter. Simply replace the old filter with the new one, and close the housing back up. Replace the housing back into the vehicle, making sure it is matching how it looked when you originally removed it. Close the hood and be sure it is secured down and your vehicle will be enjoying fresher, cleaner air the next you drive!
